Another Recon screenshot *sigh*
Oh well, at least this one shows a completely different angle to the helmet.
What’s sad is that I have already pegged the map this was taken on as Blackout. Maybe going through over 1000 screenshots a while back did something to my mind…
I think the helmet only looks good with the full recon body anyways
and I do know that the recon thing may get old but seeing as I only wear like 2 helmets 1 chest and 5 of the shoulders I figured in my case maybe I should take a screenshot with something else in it besides mark V or Mark 6
I have the same preferences as Faren regarding Recon (go Rogue helmet!).
And I don’t have anything against Recon shots, it’s just that I seem to see a lot of them. And a surprising number are actually good.
Yeah I gotcha but the only problem is that this isnt me in the shot nor did I take part in the game in which this film was recorded so since I had no control over what armors that were worn and I wanted to try something new I figured why not
I’m always confused when a shot gets dismissed simply because of what armor is worn or what weapon is being wielded (I’m not saying that is what happened with this shot, I’m just discussing the general attitude). When I look at a screenshot, I take in the entire picture and then appreciate what exactly makes it an interesting shot. Rarely are the finer details something as trivial as an armor permutation or a sniper rifle. In this picture, I am drawn to the brilliantly lit background and the reflection on the visor.
And it is a very nicely composed shot. Gun up, head turned slightly to the side, big ol’ explosion for sheer dramatic effect. It looks like he’s saying, “You’re next.”
The whole reason why this screenshot is normally viewed cool is because of the recon armor. If it didn’t have the recon, it would still be cool, but not NEARLY as popular.

I don’t have any bias towards any armour permutations. I appreciate the screenshot for what it is, not what it shows (in most cases).
I agree with you in that the angle makes it looks completely bad ass.
Hmm…
Very sleek.
I just don’t like what the recon helmet looks like, but that’s just me. Nothin’ against the shot.
It’s interesting, Faren, that maybe 95% of people don’t like the helmet, but almost everyone loves the body and shoulders.

Yeah I’ve always thought about watching a few of the Bungie Humpdays just to take some shots of Recon, as fanboyish as that may sound.
