   Looks like good timing and a gravhammer + Shield Drain/Plasma Grenade. I could be wrong but thats what it looks like to me. =)

   Yeah it looks like it was just a freak occurrence, and I bet that the “square” was only there for one frame.

   ya..it looks like maybe the game was lagging and the “gravity distortion” from the gravity hammer somehow became visible

    That looks similar to what happens when you run a fancy pants graphically heavy game on a not-nearly-good-enough PC. The particle effects and what not get rendered as colored rectangles of varying size and transparency. So yeah, frame rate prolly slowed down and that’s what ya get.
